Darjeeling, 03rd September: A large procession was organized from Ghoom to Chowrasta on Tuesday morning, aiming to tackle the persistent traffic congestion in Darjeeling. The event saw participation from numerous non-governmental organizations, local representatives, and ordinary citizens.
The primary goal of the procession, spearheaded by the Himalayan Transport Co-ordination Committee, Gorkha Jan-Awaz, and the Joint Action Committee, was to advocate for immediate measures to alleviate traffic issues affecting local residents, students, and employees, despite the challenge of finding a complete solution at this time.
In addition to the organizing committees, several Darjeeling city syndicate drivers and members of the Terai Driver Organization joined the procession, highlighting a unified effort to address the traffic concerns.
