Siliguri, 04th May: A devastating fire engulfed a residence in Vidyachakra Colony, located within Ward No. 44 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Friday afternoon. The inferno razed the house to the ground, although fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
As per reports, the fire erupted at the residence of Akash Sah, triggering a sudden commotion in the neighborhood. Promptly, the neighbours alerted Akash and the fire department. Initially, the area residents attempted to douse the flames by themselves. Subsequently, a fire engine arrived at the scene and managed to bring the inferno under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, prompting the fire department to launch an investigation into the incident.
