Maniram Gram Panchayat comes together to protect irrigation canals from land mafia in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 14th June: In a bid to safeguard the irrigation canals located along the banks of the Bataria River in Naxalbari, a group of land mafia had conspired to take control of these vital water channels. To counter this threat, Maniram Gram Panchayat took decisive action by renovating the irrigation canals in collaboration with the Naxalbari Land and Land Revenue Department.


The renovation work on the irrigation canal was carried out in Dhakna Mouja, under the supervision of Maniram Gram Panchayat. The event saw the presence of Goutam Ghosh, the Pradhan of Maniram Gram Panchayat, along with other officials and members of the local Panchayat Samiti.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pradhan emphasized the significance of preserving the irrigation canal. He expressed determination in taking stringent measures to curb the illegal sale of government land and put an end to the acts of violence orchestrated by the land mafia.
