Alipurduar, 11th March: Sensation prevailed after a man was killed in an elephant attack in the Latabari Green Park area under the Kalchini block of Alipurduar district. The deceased has been identified as Mahadeb Tirkey, a resident of the North Mendabari area.
It was reported that, on Wednesday morning, the deceased was on his way to work when the wild animal attacked him, killing him on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, the officials of the Hamiltonganj Range of the forest department reached the spot. Meanwhile, the Kalchini police recovered the body and sent it to the Alipurduar District Hospital for an autopsy.\
