Siliguri, 28th March: A rickshaw van driver was injured after being hit by a pickup van at the Thakurnagar area near Siliguri Eastern Bypass. The injured has been identified as Kapil Dev Paswan (50), a resident of the South Shantinagar Durga Mandir area.
Reportedly Kapil Dev Paswan was loading goods in a van at Eastern Bypass when a pickup van lost control and crashed into his rickshaw van. The driver sustained a head injury.
The injured van driver was rushed to Siliguri District Hospital with the help of locals. NJP Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information. Police have detained the pickup van and started an investigation into the whole incident. According to the locals, the accused driver was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened.
