Naxalbari, 16th March: Sensation prevailed in the area of Budhkaran Jote in Naxalbari after a person died being struck by a lightning. The deceased has been identified as Kalachand Barman (58). The death of Kalachand has cast a pall of gloom in the area.
Reportedly, Kalachand Barman was struck by lightning on the road while he was returning home after work from Siliguri on Wednesday night. His body was found lying on the roadside by the locals on Thursday morning.
On the other hand, the incident was reported to the police. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for postmortem to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
