Man crossing railway tracks on a cycle dies after being hit by train in Siliguri

Siliguri, 25th February: A tragic incident unfolded where an individual lost his life after being hit by a train. The deceased Abdul Karim (47), a professional scrap dealer, was originally a resident of Murshidabad and currently resided in the Matigara area for work.


According to reports, on Saturday evening, Abdul was crossing Balason Railway Bridge on his bicycle after completing his work. Subsequently, his bicycle was stuck on the railway track. While removing the bicycle from the railway track, he was hit by the Radhikapur Express. As a result, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

After the incident, the team of Government Railway Police (GRP) Siliguri Town arrived at the spot recovered the deceased body, and transported it for post-mortem examination. Subsequently, the family members of the deceased were informed about the incident. Currently, the officials of the Siliguri Town GRP are engaged in further investigation.
