Siliguri, 17th December: In a significant breakthrough, the police of the Panitanki Outpost have successfully apprehended an individual involved in alleged fraud worth lakhs of rupees. The arrested accused has been identified as Rishab Goyal.
As per details gathered, the accused Rishab Goyal was the distributor of a generator company located in the area under the jurisdiction of the Panitanki Outpost. Reports confirm that the accused allegedly embezzled Rs 6 lakh from a man named Mahnish Lama but did not provide him with the product. Following this, the victim, Mahnish Lama, filed an official complaint of deceit against Rishab Goyal at the Panitanki Outpost. The police launched an inquiry based on the complaint and arrested the accused Rishab.
In this regard, complainant Mahnish Lama alleged that he had expended a sum of Rs 6 lakh to purchase a generator. However, the accused Rishab did not deliver the product. Subsequently, he was not repaying the sum entrusted to him, prompting the victim Mahnish to file a police report. On Sunday, the accused was brought before Siliguri Court for judicial proceedings.
