Man arrested on charge of killing his wife in Bagdogra, skeletal remains recovered after 20 days

Bagdogra, 04th December: Sensation prevailed in Bagdogra after a man allegedly killed his wife and discarded her body in the forest. Following interrogations of the accused husband, the police recovered the skeletal remains from the forest. The deceased woman has been identified as Suchitra Biswas.


According to reports, on November 13, a man identified as Mahadev Biswas allegedly strangled his wife to death after deceiving her over a walk. Following this, Mahadev abandoned the lifeless body of his wife in the forest to avoid being caught. After the incident, the sister of the deceased sensed suspicion and filed a formal complaint at the police station.

Based on the complaint, Mahadev was interrogated by the cops at Bagdogra police station. Subsequently, the police recovered the skeletal remains of Suchitra Biswas 20 days after the incident prompting the arrest of her husband Mahadev Biswas.


In this regard, the sister of the deceased woman claimed that the accused allegedly became suspicious of her sister. She further demanded stringent punishment of the accused.

On Monday the accused will be produced before Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for legal proceedings. Currently, the police are engaged in detailed investigation of the incident.
