Man arrested from Manipur for duping several traders in Siliguri

Siliguri, 26th March: Police arrested a man, identified as Akash Goyal, for duping several businesspeople in Siliguri for lakhs of rupees. The Ambari Outpost Police nabbed the crook from Manipur. On producing the accused in the Jalpaiguri court on Friday, the judge directed to keep him in police custody for three days.


According to the information, Akash Goyal placed an order of 600 quintals of flour worth Rs 15 lakh under the name of a businessman from Manipur in a mill located in the Ambari Outpost Police area of ​​Rajganj. While the goods were loaded in two trucks and taken to Manipur, the factory management did not receive any payment even after months. When they contacted the businessman, under whose name the goods were ordered, they realized that they had been tricked.

Later a complaint was lodged in this regard at Ambari Outpost. An investigation was immediately launched and the police learned that the accused had cheated several other traders of the city in a similar manner. A few days ago the police reached Manipur from Ambari Outpost and arrested the accused Akash Goyal. During investigation, the police learned that despite the accused’s house being in Siliguri, he was running the racket from Manipur. After the matter came to light, numerous cases have been registered in Siliguri against Akash Goyal. Police are further investigating the case.
