Siliguri, 19th May: The Bhakti Nagar police have apprehended a young man identified as Arpan Chand, a resident of Falakata, for allegedly engaging in deceptive relations with a girl under the pretext of dreaming about marriage.
The incident came to light when a girl from Purba Medinipur, residing in Siliguri for work, accused Arpan Chand of deceitfully leading her into a relationship under false promises of marriage. Reportedly, the two initially got acquainted during work-related interactions that swiftly escalated into a romantic involvement.
However, it has been alleged that the accused Arpan Chand denied marriage after deceiving the girl into engaging in physical relations. This prompted the girl to file a formal complaint with Bhakti Nagar police station. Subsequently, the police arrested Arpan based on the complaint on Saturday night. Later on Sunday, the accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri Court for further legal proceedings.
