Phansidewa, 6th June: Police arrested a man for physically assaulting his wife. The arrested accused has been identified as Paritosh Sarkar, a resident of Rangapani, Siliguri.
According to reports, Paritosh married Tanushree Sarkar, a resident of Matigara, a few weeks ago. Within a few days, things got bitter between the couple as Paritosh doubted that his wife had another love affair. During one conflict, Paritosh dragged his wife to the Limbutari area of Phansidewa and allegedly assaulted her after tying her to a tree.
Upon seeing the incident, locals informed Phansidewa Police Station about the matter. Following this, police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. Later, the family members of Tanushree Sarkar lodged a written complaint in the police station, after which, the culprit was arrested. Today, the accused has been produced in the Siliguri Divisional Court.
