Man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his minor daughter in Siliguri

Siliguri, 26th April: A deeply shameful and grave incident has come to light in Bagdogra, where a father has been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting his own minor daughter. 

The incident occurred in the Railway Colony area, under the jurisdiction of the Bagdogra Police Station.The accused has been identified as Shambhu Chaudhary (40). His wife filed a written complaint with the police, based on which the accused was arrested.

According to the complaint, the woman was away at work, leaving her 15-year-old daughter alone at home. During this time, the accused father returned home in an intoxicated state and seizing the opportunity, allegedly forcibly assaulted his own daughter.

Neighbors rushed to the scene upon hearing the girl's screams. Subsequently, her mother returned home and after learning the full details of the incident immediately lodged a complaint at the police station.

Police have registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and have produced him before the Siliguri Court. Currently, police are conducting a detailed investigation into the entire matter.
