Naxalbari, 26th November: A distressing incident unfolded in Naxalbari, where a youth was apprehended on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor after brutally dragging her to his house. The arrested accused has been identified as Sujoy Barman.
As per reports, on Sunday, the accused individual was taken into custody by the Naxalbari police station after the victim’s family lodged a complaint. In regard to the crime, the victim’s family stated that a few days prior, the minor was taken by the accused teenager after lunch and was subjected to sexual abuse. Consequently, they demanded that the accused receive severe punishment in light of the crime.
It is to be noted that the accused will be produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court on Monday for further legal proceedings.
