Man allegedly killed by his in-laws in Malda

Malda, 09th February: Sensation prevailed after a 42-year-old man, identified as Anand Pramanik, was allegedly killed by his in-laws. Reportedly, the deceased was a resident of Mangalbari, Malda.


According to sources, Anand Pramanik visited Tildanga Keshabpur in Farakka to attend a function at his in-laws’ house. It has been alleged that his in-laws, who had been preying on him, eventually attacked him.
Anand was then admitted in a severely injured condition at the Malda Medical College-Hospital on Saturday evening, where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Geeta Pramanik, Anand’s sister-in-law (brother’s wife), alleged that he was killed by his in-laws. However, the accused have given two different statements in this case. They initally stated that Anand was run over by a train which caused his death. Later the in-laws stated that Anand might have hung himself to death.
