Siliguri, 15th January: In a distressing incident, a man was allegedly attacked brutally for resisting liquor and gambling activities in Krishna Nagar Colony adjacent to Siliguri.
Reportedly, on Sunday, Vijay Roy, a resident of the said area urged some individuals to stop liquor and gambling activities. Following this, Vijay was allegedly attacked and suffered significant injuries on his head and nose. After the incident, he was admitted to Siliguri District Hospital in a critical condition.
In this regard, the resident alleged prolonged bullying by drug addicts. They claimed the presence of gambling and drug gatherings in an area on the banks of the Sahu River for a long time. Further, they stated being threatened. Meanwhile, the family members of the injured have lodged a complaint at the Ambari Outpost.
