Siliguri, 30th July: In a significant breakthrough, police arrested the accused absconding after stealing a gold chain from a jewelry store located in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Shivam Mallick.
Earlier, on the evening of July 25th, Shivam Mallick along with his wife Priyanka Sharma Mallick arrived at a jewelry store located at Hill Cart Road. Following this, Shivam allegedly fled with an original gold chain after handing over a counterfeit chain at the showroom. However, Shivam’s wife was held by the store owner and handed over to the police. After the incident, police initiated a search operation to nab Shivam.
As per reports, on Saturday, Shivam arrived in the Khudiram Pally area with the intention to sell the stolen gold chain. Upon receiving the news, the police undertook an operation and arrested the accused from the said area. In addition, police also recovered the stolen gold chain from his possession. Today, Shivam Mallick was produced before the Siliguri Court.
