Malda man living in quarantine on a boat for 14 days

Malda, 02nd April: To deal with coronavirus outbreak, a 60-year-old is living in quarantine on a boat rather than in a hospital or home. The peculiar incident surfaced from the Dubapara village of Bulbulchandi in Habibpur in Malda district.

According to sources, the said elder is living on a boat on the Tangon River. He is a resident of the Pavanapara area of Nabadwip police station of Nadia.

The elderly came to Bulbulchandi to visit his relative but since he traveled from outside, the villagers of the area objected to him staying at his relative’s house. The man was then taken to a doctor, who advised him to live in quarantine for 14 days. Since there was no vacant house available, the old man took shelter under the boat.

On the other hand, BDO of Habibpur Shubhajit Jana stated that the administration received information regarding the incident and have decided to make necessary arrangements for the elderly.
