Major fire burns down house in Phansidewa into ashes 

Phansidewa, 07th November: A house in the Chathat area of ​​Phansidewa was gutted in a huge fire. Reportedly, the fire broke out in Babul Das’ house, a resident of the said area, late on Saturday night. Household items, lakhs of rupees, jewellery and other essential items were burnt to ashes in this fire. Upon receiving the news, the police and the Siliguri Fire Department reached the spot and brought the fire under control after hours of effort. 


In this context, Babul Das said that he woke up to some noises late in the night and when he ran out, I saw that the house was on fire. He further added that the fire has caused a lot of damage. Meanwhile, Akhtar Ali, a social worker of the area, said that incidents of fire are happening at different places in the area. Due to the non-availability of a fire brigade in the area, people have to suffer a lot. He stated that the house could have been safe had the fire brigade been in the area.
