Phansidewa, 01st June: Acting on directives from the state government, the excise department and Phansidewa police launched a joint operation against illegal liquor on Monday.
Raids were conducted in Mangach, Hariganj and Kashiganj areas of Phansidewa, where officials recovered and destroyed several hundred litres of country-made liquor.
During the operation, equipment used for illegal liquor production was also seized and destroyed by the authorities.
According to officials, similar joint raids have been carried out in multiple areas earlier as part of an ongoing drive against the illegal liquor trade.
The administration has intensified its action to curb the production and distribution of country-made liquor in the region.
