Siliguri, 26th February: On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a large number of devotees gathered at the historic Karunamoyee Kali Temple in the Baikunthapur forest of Uttar Ektiasal, near Siliguri Eastern Bypass.
Established in 1973, the temple holds great religious significance, attracting devotees from various places throughout the year, not just on Maha Shivratri.
Like every year, a three-day fair and musical program have been organized alongside the temple’s worship rituals. Devotees are being served Khichdi Prasad on all three days of the celebration.
Given the temple’s proximity to the forest, police and forest personnel have been deployed to maintain security and ensure smooth proceedings.
