Rajganj, 23rd February: Sensation ensued after a Madhyamik examinee died in an elephant attack while going for his exams. The deceased student has been identified as Arjun Kumar Das, a resident of Maharaj Ghat area under Gajaldoba adjacent to Mantadari Gram Panchayat.
Reportedly on Thursday, while going to Belakoba Kebal Para High School on a bike with his father, Ajun was attacked by an elephant in the Maharaj Ghat area near the forest, due to which he died on the spot.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, police and forest personnel of Milanpally Out Post reached the spot. Meanwhile, District Magistrate of Jalpaiguri, Siliguri Police Commissioner and Mayor Goutam Deb reached the house of the deceased student.
