Locals state several complaints to Union MoS Nisith Pramanik in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, 11th March: Union Minister of State (MoS) and BJP candidate Nisith Pramanik took stock of Shyam Sundar Colony under Guriahati II Gram Panchayat of Cooch Behar in campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. During the visit, the women of the village complained regarding drinking water and roads.


Reportedly, on Monday, Union MoS for Home and BJP candidate from Cooch Behar Lok Sabha constituency Nisith Pramanik started campaign under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative after the announcement of the BJP candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The MoS started the election campaign from the Rail Gate area under Guriahati II Gram Panchayat under the Natabari assembly.

After a meeting in the Bangchatra Rail Gate area, the Union MoS visited Shyam Sundar Colony. During this, the women halted the campaign and narrated the problems the village faced. The locals alleged that the roads in the area were in a dilapidated condition for a prolonged time in addition to water-logging and uncleared drainage. They further stated drinking water issues.


In this regard, Nisith Pramanik stated that even if he wish to address the grievances of the locals, the Gram Panchayat is under the TMC party. Further, he claimed a lack of cooperation with the MP.

Meanwhile, Biswajit Mallick, the Pradhan of Guriahati II Gram Panchayat stated that several developmental works are underway in the village. He further accused the MoS of arriving for votes ahead of the election.
