Bagdogra, 15th February: Locals of the Tarbandha area in Bagdogra caught a youth allegedly stealing a goat and handed him over to the police.
According to the locals, two people on a motorbike were spotted fleeing with the stolen goat from the village. On seeing them, the locals caught the duo. However, one of the two managed to escape from the villagers’ clutches.
Meanwhile, the other youth was beaten publically by the locals and then was handed over to the Bagdogra police.
A bike has also been recovered from the spot.
The police have started the further investigation.
