Rajganj, 27th February: Apart from tourists, locals have breathed a sigh of relief as the problem of illegal parking got resolved after traffic booth was set up in Fulbari.
It is worth mentioning that due to the illegal parking of freight trucks along the four-lane, Asian Highway-2 from Fulbari More to Border Checkpost, traffic congestion was a major problem. Despite raids and warnings by the administration and police, no solution was provided. A few days ago, a traffic booth was inaugurated at Fulbari more of the Police Commissionerate. On the day of the inauguration, Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma himself inspected the area and instructed truck drivers, owners, and businessmen to stop illegal parking on Asian Highway-2.
Residents of the area said that illegal parking on the road was causing a lot of issues. They are happy now as the problem has been resolved. However, they demanded that police must regularly monitor the situation.
