Siliguri, 16th August: The Lions Club of Siliguri Terai Shakti has been distributing nutritious food to needy families living in remote areas through the Shakti Ahaar (Food for All) campaign. The supplies are provided 2-3 times a month especially considering the ongoing pandemic.
Fully operated by women, the Lions Club of Siliguri Terai Shakti has been relentlessly working to deliver nutritious food to the impoverished people living in various tea gardens and remote villages.
On Sunday, the Lions Club of Siliguri Terai Shakti and in collaboration with Siliguri Times provided nutritious food and packets of milk to 250 children of Fulbari Patan Tea Garden in Matigara.
The Food Relief Cell of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate also extended a helping hand for the noble cause. The cell provided food packets to the children of the tea garden.
ACP Rajen Chhetri and Bhaktinagar Traffic Guard OC and Food Relief Cell officer Subir Dutta and members of Matigara Welfare were present during the programme.
