Fulbari, 02nd October: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, many social service programmes were organized in the Kanchanbari area of Fulbari under the aegis of the Lions Club of Siliguri Terai. Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad (District Council) member Debashish Pramanik inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Lions Club of Siliguri Terai President Mahesh Kumar, DG Shankar Kumar Das, Vice DG Hemant Agarwal and others were present on the occasion.
As per the information, free health, eyes and blood pressure check-up camps were organized today. Also, new clothes and reading materials were distributed among hundreds of people in the village. Food was also arranged for all.
President Mahesh Kumar said that the initiative was taken by the organization to bring smiles on the faces of the people before the puja.
