Leopard trapped in a cage in Haldibari Tea Garden

Dooars, 28th February: A leopard was trapped in a cage planted by the forest department in Section No. 24 of the Haldibari Tea Garden in Dooars.


According to sources, a goat was placed in the cage, which was planted in Section No. 24 of the Haldibari Tea Garden. The workers of the tea garden sighted a leopard trapped in the said cage, today. The incident was immediately informed to the forest department.

Upon receiving the news, the forest officials reached the spot, recovered the leopard and took it to the Lataguri Nature Supervision Center, from where the leopard would be released in the Gorumara National Park after a primary health check-up. Ranger Aghroydeep Roy of the Binnaguri Wildlife Squad stated that a goat was placed in a cage, which was planted in Section No. 24 of the Haldibari Tea Garden on February 24.
