Siliguri, 11th August: The Left Front has called for ‘Siliguri Municipal Corporation Abhiyan’ on August 17. Former SMC Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday.
It is to be noted, after the assembly elections, the Left has been alleging the appointment of Goutam Deb, Ranjan Sarkar and Alok Chakraborty to the Board of Administrators of Siliguri Municipal Corporation as illegal. Bhattacharya further alleged that numerous unconstitutional things are being done in the SMC.
