Kidnap-Murder of 12-year-old: SUCI protests in Siliguri, demands immediate arrest of accused

Siliguri, 15th December: After the disfigured body of the missing girl student of Siliguri was recovered from the forest area near Sukna, an uproar has been sparked across the city. As the accused still remains at large, citizens are now demanding the immediate arrest of the offender at the earliest. 


Today a rally was taken out by the SUCI demanding arrest of the culprit who is still out of custody. A protest was also staged at Court More of Siliguri. Tanmoy Dutta, a member of the district committee of SUCI, said that if the police fail to arrest the culprit within the next 24 hours, they will launch a massive agitation. 

It is to be noted that a 12-year-old girl student, a resident of Dakshin Palash area of Siliguri, had gone to her school on December 05 to appear for the examination after which she went missing. Family members claim that the girl was abducted by their neighbour’s son-in-law Manoj Roy after they came across CCTV footage of Manoj taking the girl in his bike. While a complaint was lodged at the Pradhan Nagar police station, the accused is still at large since the incident. Later on Tuesday, after 8 days after the abduction, the disfigured body of the girl was recovered from the Sukna forest.
