Siliguri, 15 December: Sensation prevailed across the city after a case of kidnapping and later the murder of a 12-year-old girl surfaced from Dakshin Palas area. The last rites of the deceased were also performed last evening.
Expressing her condolence and support, Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Papiya Ghosh reached the victim’s residence today to meet the grieving family. During this, she spoke to the mother of the deceased and assured the family of bringing justice with the arrest of the accused at the earliest and severely punishing the culprit.
While addressing the media, Papiya Ghosh spoke about the incident stating it as a very sad and tragic incident that has robbed a mother of a daughter. She assured that she will talk to the police and demand the arrest of the accused at the earliest. At the same time, she took a jibe against BJP and alleged them of involving politics in the tragic incident.
Addressing the demand for CBI’s involvement in the case, Papiya Ghosh said that the Siliguri Metropolitan Police is capable of and will soon nab the accused.
