Siliguri, 13th January: Several job applicants staged a protest in front of the Siliguri Primary School council office demanding recruitment of teachers after the results of 2009 primary teacher recruitment was published.
Candidates from different places including Siliguri joined the protest. Although they planned to present a memorandum to the chairman of the school council, they were not permitted to do so.
Meanwhile, Chairman Suprakash Roy said that they will work as per the government directives. He claimed that so far no instructions have been given to them.
