Jalpaiguri, 19th March: A youth, identified as Ashraful Rahman (35), has been arrested and charged with illegal sale of wildlife. Rahman is a resident of the Dhaniapara area under Bahadur Gram Panchayat.
As per the report, the Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police recovered a Tokay gecko from his possession. The arrested accused was handed over to the Jalpaiguri Forest department, today evening.
The Kotwali Police station Inspector-in-Charge (IC), Biswas Roy Sarkar, stated that a case would be filed against him as per the Wild Life Act. The arrested accused will be produced before the Jalpaiguri court, today.
