INTTUC stage protest in support of various demands
Siliguri, 04th March: Alleging that hawkers are being oppressed in several ways, INTTUC stage protest and took out a rally from their NJP office. Following this, the members of the organization went to the ADRM office and demonstrated. A 9-point memorandum was also handed over.
Sujoy Sarkar, the convener of the organization, said that the railway department is oppressing the hawkers in various ways. This process of eviction and oppression is to privatize the railways. Railways should immediately arrange alternative work for hawkers and vendors. Failing which, Trinamool workers’ organization will not accept the demolition drive. He warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
