Siliguri, 17th January: A private company near Sahudangi let go of 30 workers without any valid reason. The workers to be retrenched have been unemployed for about one and a half years. They reached out to the company officials, but to no avail. Eventually, the workers launched an agitation to get their jobs back.
Extending their support to the workers, the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress of Dabgram-Fulbari Block under Jalpaiguri District, on Tuesday, reached the said company through a rally from Bhola More and staged a protest.
Speaking in this regard, the president of the organization, Sukant Kar stated that their agitation will continue till the workers get re-appointed. On the other hand, the workers also said that they will continue their agitation till they get their jobs back.
