INTTUC protest in front of BJP MP Raju Bista residence in Matigara 

Siliguri, 04th February: A 10-day agitation has been launched by the INTTUC in North Bengal on the issue of tea garden workers in three districts. In this sequence, today, on the 9th day of the movement, the INTTUC staged a protest in front of the BJP MP Raju Bista’s house in Matigara, Darjeeling.


Under the leadership of INTTUC State President Ritabrata Banerjee and Darjeeling District INTTUC President Nirjal Dey, protests were held by putting forward the issue of PF and other points of tea garden workers. It is to be noted, that the Trinamool Congress-backed labor organization INTTUC has started agitation in front of the houses of BJP MPs and MLAs across three districts of North Bengal, i.e. Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Darjeeling. In this, after the agitation in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, a protest was held in front of the residence of Darjeeling District MP Raju Bista in Siliguri today.

The INTTUC state president of the protest, Ritabrata Banerjee, along with local leaders including all the district heads of North Bengal, lashed out at the central government.
