Siliguri, 21st February: February 21 is observed every year as International Mother Language Day to promote linguistic and cultural diversity. The day has been observed across the globe since 2000.
Accordingly, the day was observed in Siliguri Baghajatin Park on Monday. The to-be mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Goutam Deb, SMC commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, and many others paid their respects at the martyr’s altar.
Goutam Deb said that Siliguri will be transformed into a cultural city utilizing the experience of all.
