Siliguri, 03rd November: A press conference was held on behalf of the Indian Medical Association, Siliguri, on Wednesday. Dr Malay Chakraborty, Dr Radheshyam Mahato, Dr Shekhar Chakraborty, Dr Kalyan Khan and others were present at the conference.
Doctors stated that the number of daily COVID infections has increased in the last few days. In such a situation, crowds should be strictly restricted in puja pandals and COVID safety measures should be followed. They urged all to ban firecrackers as air pollution can worsen lung infections. Besides, the novel coronavirus can spread through the smog of fireworks. Hence, they urged all to be extra careful this Diwali.
