India under lockdown: Siliguri people to celebrate ‘Chhath Puja’ at home

Siliguri, 30th March: In view of the coronavirus outbreak, a nation-wide lockdown has been declared to contain the spread of the virus. In this situation, several people have decided to offer ‘Chhath Puja’ in their respective houses.

As per the report, many people in Siliguri have set up small ghats on the terraces and lawns of their residence and are performing Chhath Puja.

A devotee stated that every year, Chhath Puja rituals are performed in the month of Chaitra (aka Choitro). However, due to the lockdown, they will be performing the rituals at home instead of river banks.
