Inauguration of waste-carrying vehicles and solar-powered drinking water projects in Naxalbari and Kharibari Blocks

Naxalbari, 01st September: A significant step towards improving waste management and drinking water services for the general public was taken on Friday, as the Solid Waste Management initiative unveiled new waste-carrying vehicles and solar-powered drinking water projects in Naxalbari and Kharibari Blocks.


The inauguration ceremony, held at the Naxalbari Block Development Office (BDO), was attended by Arun Ghosh, the Sabhadhipati of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, who officially inaugurated two waste-carrying vehicles. Additionally, four solar-powered drinking water services were introduced across the two blocks.

Among the dignitaries present were Nalini Ranjan Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Mahakuma Parishad, Arun Ghosh, President of Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti, Ratna Roy Singh, President of Kharibari Panchayat Samiti, and other delegates.


Addressing the gathering, Arun Ghosh emphasized the importance of the solid waste management project in maintaining cleanliness within the Mahakuma Parishad. He also announced plans to provide e-cart services and tractors to 22 Gram Panchayats in the near future.
