Kalchini, 27th September: The Bharat Bandh called by Sanjukta Kisan Morcha in protest against the three agricultural laws of the Centre received a mixed impact in West Bengal.
To make the bandh a success in Alipurduar district today, supporters of the bandh took to the streets since this morning. No private buses were seen on the roads and most of the shops remained closed in the city. Adequate security arrangements have been made in the city to prevent any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the bandh supporters also took to the streets in Hamiltonganj of Kalchini block. They stopped the government buses from plying on the roads. Shops were also closed in Hamiltonganj and Kalchini areas today. Apart from this, shops also remained closed in Falakata.
