Siliguri’s Ward No. 1 councillor extends a helping hand to Dharmanagar fire-affected families

Siliguri, 22nd January: Another devastating fire incident in Siliguri claimed many houses leaving people homeless. The incident surfaced in Siliguri’s Ward No. 1 Dharmanagar area where a small spark led to extensive destruction. 


 

The said fire burnt about 10 houses into ashes. Along with the houses, even the clothes and necessary items were burnt in the flames. The fire-affected families are suffering more given the harsh cold winter weather as they have no roof or clothes to keep them warm. 


 

In the given situation, Ward Councilor Sanjay Pathak, talked to the SDO and District Magistrate to help the said families under the state government scheme extending a helping hand to provide them with relief materials. Ward councilor Sanjay Pathak provided the materials, tarpaulin blankets and warm clothes given by the DM to the said families under the government scheme. 

 

Speaking on the occurrence, Councilor Sanjay Pathak said that the people who have suffered losses in Dharmanagar area of his ward have been given relief material under the government project. At the same time, Sanjay Pathak said that the victims’ families should be helped under the government scheme.
