Siliguri, 10th February: The Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) has decided to provide a hydraulic parking system near the old bus stand in Siliguri’s Bidhan Market. Such an initiative has been taken to meet the problems of traffic congestion and parking.
As per the report, the tender calling procedure has been initiated on behalf of SJDA. A survey has also been carried out by the engineers.
In this regard, SJDA vice-chairman Nantu Pal said that the designated agency will be requested to allow parking of 80-150 vehicles in the new parking space. However, for the past several days, the traders of Bidhan Market have been demanding that a part of the Kanchenjunga Fair Ground be used as a parking lot.
