Siliguri, 30th October: The undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police station seized a large number of firecrackers and took a trader into custody in connection to the case.
According to police sources, the police campaigned in Siliguri’s Ward No. 01 Gate Bazaar area acting on a tip-off, last night. During the raid, a large quantity of banned firecrackers was seized from a shop. The owner of the shop has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated.
It is to be noted, the Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered a complete ban on usage and sale of all kinds of firecrackers including green crackers throughout the state during the upcoming Diwali, Kali Puja, Chatth Puja, Christmas and New Year celebrations.
