Alipurduar, 28th April: A house in Garopara Gram Panchayat area under Alipurduar district was severely damaged after an elephant went on a rampage on the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to sources, the wild elephant came out of the Buxa Tiger Reserve and entered the residential area, destroying a portion of Nima Oraon’s residence. The animal also ate food grains stored in the house.
The locals stated that the wild animal then went on a rampage in several other residences and shops and returned to the woods.
