Siliguri, 24th March: During a meeting at North Bengal Medical College Hospital on Thursday, Siliguri Mayor and chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) Goutam Deb said that he is taking initiatives to renovate the hospital.
He said that CCTV cameras will be installed not only in the hospital premises but also in the surrounding areas to prevent anti-social activities. The shops in front of the hospital will be completely removed and parking will not be allowed on the college premises. A meeting with the police commissioner and health officials will be held soon.
Deb further added that a few doctors have been accused of not doing their duty for a long time. Apart from taking strict action against all doctors, he also urged the health department to appoint new doctors. He maintained that beautification and a sustainable drinking water system will be introduced under the Green City project.
