Goutam Deb, chairman of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti held a meeting at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital

Siliguri, 29th November: Siliguri’s Mayor Goutam Deb, chairman of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, held a meeting today. The meeting discussed the improvement in the medical services of the hospital.


District Chief Health Officer Dr. Tulsi Pramanik, College President Dr. Indrajit Saha, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Mallik, College Dean Dr. Sandeep Sengupta, and others were present in the meeting. At the end of the meeting, Goutam Deb raised his voice against the fair-price medicine shop of the hospital and the unavailability of essential medicines at reasonable prices in the stores.

According to the rules, there is a discussion of keeping surgical implants in the shops, but the said company is not keeping them. He further warned that if the shop is not run properly, he will be forced to revoke the license on the instructions of the Chief Minister. He also questioned the construction of the corridor of the hospital which was damaged in the 2015 earthquake for Rs 7 crore.
