Gorkha soldier martyred in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir

Rajouri (J&K), 10th July: Havildar Sambur Gurung serving in the Indian Army, was martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Nowshera Sector in Rajouri District in Jammu and Kashmir, early morning Friday.


Gurung is a resident of Manbu village of Aarughat Rural Municipality in Gorkha district.

The 33-year-old Gorkha soldier was seriously wounded and was rushed to a military hospital in Rajouri district. Later, the braveheart succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.


Indian army spokesman Lt. Col. Devender Anand confirmed that Havildar Gurung was martyred in the firing. 

It is to be noted, earlier on June 22, Indian army soldier Havildar Dipak Karki was also martyred in the same Nowshera Sector.
