Siliguri, 23rd February: The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway reduced the passenger fares of Siliguri-Darjeeling Toy Train ride and Joy Ride (Darjeeling-Ghoom) by Rs 200. Vistadome coaches are being added to the Joy Ride to increase tourist attraction.
ADRM Sanjay Chilwarwar of NF Railway Katihar Division held a press conference in Siliguri on Wednesday. He said that the decision has been taken especially for the tourists.
Earlier, AC coach fare was Rs 1720 per head for NJP-Darjeeling which has been reduced to Rs 1500. The fare for the first-class coach was Rs 1600 which is now Rs 1400.
The Joy Ride from Darjeeling station to Ghoom station has all Vistadome coaches. The fare is Rs 1500 for Joy Ride steam engines and Rs 1000 for diesel engines which was earlier Rs 1600 and Rs 1500 respectively.
