Gajoldoba’s Bhorer Alo tourism centre faces maintenance concerns, overgrown bushes draw attention

Gajoldoba, 13th June: Concerns have been raised over the condition of the Bhorer Alo tourism centre in Gajoldoba, with overgrown bushes and vegetation reportedly covering parts of the tourist destination.

Located in Rajganj block, the tourism centre was once known as a dream project of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and is said to have received investments in crores for its development. However, locals allege that lack of regular maintenance has affected the overall appearance of the site.

Residents claimed that weeds and overgrown bushes have spread across several areas of the tourism centre, creating an environment where insects and pests can thrive.

Local resident and BJP leader Sujit Dey alleged that adequate maintenance work, including clearing of bushes and upkeep of the surrounding areas, has not been carried out for a long time. He claimed that many tourists visiting the destination are returning disappointed after witnessing its present condition.

Dey also urged Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh to initiate renovation, beautification and development work at the tourism centre at the earliest.

Locals expressed hope that the state government would take necessary steps to restore Bhorer Alo and improve its appeal as a tourist destination.
